Clariden - Schärhorn

Two striking, glaciated peaks, which are surprisingly easy to climb. Nevertheless, you are in the middle of a secluded high mountain world. Anyone who gets lost here will be rewarded with an unforgettable mountain experience.

program

Clariden 3267m
We will soon leave the lush, green meadows below us and hike steadily higher to the legendary Iswändli. In the past it was a real ice wall, today it is only a sloping slope and easy to climb with crampons. We will soon see the summit of Clariden. But first we cross the summit and scramble over the short rock ridge, which is equipped with chains, to the highest point. With good visibility you can see some four thousand meter peaks of the Bernese and Valais Alps. After a good summit rest, we descend to the Clariden glacier on firn and snow. On this and over the glaciated Clariden Pass we soon reach the Planura hut, surrounded by mighty glaciers. A truly beautiful oasis in this high mountain world.
Approximately 5 hours ascent, 1300 m ascent, descent to Planura hut approx. 2 hours

Schärhorn 3294m
The second day leads us over the extensive Hüfigletscher to the foot of the Schärhorn. A lot of rubble, some snow and ice passages await us before we reach the summit. Airy and exposed, it towers high above the wide glacier surfaces. We climb back on the same route and circle the Chammlihoren. Once again, you have to climb a few meters in altitude before our round tour on the Chammlijoch closes. We already know the descent via Iswändli and the mountain hiking trail back to the Klausen Pass and the tour gradually fades away.
Approximately 3 hours ascent, 500 m ascent, descent to Klausenpass 4.5 hours
