Gokyo - Khumbu - Everest

Nestled in the highest mountains in the world, Nepal is considered the crossroads of gods and people. Nepal has a variety of landscapes that probably leave no one unaffected. The fairytale Kathmandu with the great temples and palaces, but also the friendly Nepali cast a spell over us.
Nowhere are the mountains higher and more impressive than in the Sherpas in Sagarmatha National Park, which has been declared a World Heritage Site by Unesco. Our route leads through the Gokyo valley in the Khumbu region and is a scenic delight. The panoramic mountains Gokyo-Ri, KalaPattar, and the Cho-La Pass offer a panorama of superlatives. The eight thousand meter peaks of Mount Everest, Lhotse, Makalu, and Cho Oyu are majestic, surrounded by countless six and seven thousand meter peaks. We fly from Kathmandu to Lukla in the middle of the Everest area and are warmly welcomed by the Sherpas. Impressive trekking on a less traveled route, past Buddhist monasteries up to the highest mountains in the world.

Ascent of Island Peak, 6189 m
On our Gokyo Everest trekking you have the option of climbing the 6189 m high Island Peak (travel program, day 16). Technically comparable is the ascent with a glacier tour on a demanding four-thousand meter peak in the Alps. Experience with crampons, ice axes and rope technology is necessary. At your request, we can organize preparatory tours in Switzerland for you. The climb is rewarded with a unique scenery - in the middle of the grandiose world of the eight-thousanders.
